A greater frequency of data exchanges required to cope with customs declarations will inevitably place acute demands on logistics providers to manage complexity. Import Services’ AEO accreditation and trusted IT systems are already in place to provide the necessary electronic reporting and facilitate movement of orders, across frontiers.

Import Services recently invested in our IT system (TRAC), upgrading our portal, which allows our Clients the ability to access, monitor and download information in real time, from wherever they connect to us, via the Web.

The suggested cost implications will likely be more from the administrative effort and control required to manage the new regime. A logistics partner must therefore be capable of tracking order flow, serving potentially a range of new Customs jurisdictions. Hence bonded warehouse facilities and appropriate systems to manage inventory under bond, will be a prerequisite. Import Services’ distribution centres are already set for this eventuality.
