Import Services has recently been contacted by the BBC, for an opinion on UK and European trade, in a post-Brexit environment.

This update is the first in a series, where we will feedback on the key Brexit issues and their affect on supply chains.

The first update is a focus on Import Tariffs / VAT and the view Brexit will be more concerned with the administrative effort and control required to manage the new regime.

In this respect our thinking is a logistics partner must be capable of tracking order flow; serving potentially a range of new Customs jurisdictions. Hence bonded warehouse facilities and appropriate systems to manage inventory under bond, will become a prerequisite.

Import Services’ distribution centres are already set for this eventuality, capable of alleviating concern for the need to hold extra stock.

If you would like to speak with a representative of Import Services with regard to this matter and other Brexit related topics, we would be delighted to take your call or enquiry on 01489 799 500 or email yes@importservices.co.uk
